A London Underground station dropped into the basement of a 40-year-old building on Jalan Ampang, with Chesterfield sofas, bar shelves cut from repurposed durian wood and a gin cocktail spiked with Madagascar pink peppercorns.
LandOn by Tatto is a hidden bar beneath Wisma Central, a short walk from KLCC, from the team behind Tatto Italian restaurant.
We were there for the launch night, and this review covers the room, the music, the five signature cocktails, the bar food and everything you need to find it.

Hidden Underground Bar at Wisma Central
LandOn by Tatto is an underground cocktail bar in the basement of Wisma Central on Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, run by Tabetha, Yenti and Tom, the team behind Tatto.
Its name plays on “London” and “Landing On”, and the room borrows from the London Underground, with signature cocktails at RM45 and bar food from RM22.

Where Is LandOn by Tatto?
From the street, Wisma Central gives nothing away. Look for the OUD perfume store on the ground-floor frontage, then head around the corner from the main lobby to a discreet entrance that leads down to the basement.
The way in nods to the hidden entrances of the Kingsman films, and once you are downstairs, the traffic of Jalan Ampang disappears.
Inside LandOn by Tatto
The room runs low and warm, styled as an Underground station with Chesterfield sofas, bottle-green wingback chairs and pop-art touches, mixed to feel like a collected living room.
The bar counter is built from thick slices of native timber set on granite blocks, the shelves behind it are repurposed durian wood, and the tables are massive trunks cut from trees that once grew in Kuala Lumpur, inherited from the jungle-themed bar that held the space before.
There are no private rooms. Everyone shares the same soft light and open floor, which keeps the bar social.

Music, DJs and Live Sets
Early evenings run on chilled R&B and nostalgic tracks, kept low enough to talk over. After 10pm, the soundtrack moves into soul, funk and danceable tracks.
DJs play on Friday and Saturday nights, and a small performance corner hosts live jazz and R&B bands. Themed nights rotate through jazz, Cantopop, Latin and R&B.
5 Best Cocktails at LandOn by Tatto
Head mixologist Buyung has more than 16 years of experience behind the bar. Tell him your mood and he will build a drink off the menu around it.
House syrups of pandan and nangka give the list a Malaysian base, and the menu changes every three to six months.

Madagasia
The bestseller and the drink that defines LandOn. Gin Mare meets lime, soda and a Madagascar spice syrup, finished with pink peppercorns and a cinnamon stick.
The peppercorns come through a friend of the owners, and the result is gentle, warming spice over a clean gin base, and at RM45 it is the one to order first.
Magenta Blitz
Blueberry-infused gin with raspberry liqueur, lime, strawberry syrup and egg white, the fruitiest of the five.
Whispering Jade
Built on two Malaysian staples: gin with calamansi and house-made pandan syrup.
Jack in the Tropics
Jackfruit-infused Bacardi with Malibu, lime and pandan syrup, topped with a slice of spirit-steeped jackfruit.
Velvet Dawn
Aperol, gin and passionfruit, the lightest way to start the night before moving on to the Madagasia.
Classic Cocktails and Non-Alcoholic Drinks
A separate classics menu covers the standards. The Negroni mixes Campari, Bombay Sapphire, Martini Rosso and orange bitters, and the New York Sour shakes bourbon, lime, sugar syrup and egg white under a red wine float. Standard pours are about 45 ml, and some drinks reach about 60 ml.
For something stronger, ask for the off-menu bourbon cocktail with activated charcoal, lime, spicy syrup and egg white, topped with a bird’s eye chilli. Non-drinkers get alcohol-free creations and non-alcoholic beers.
Bar Food and Prices
The menu sticks to bar bites built for sharing: tomato bruschetta for RM22, mushroom crostini and popcorn chicken for RM26 each, and pan-seared Australian beef with rosemary oil for RM68. Truffle fries, chicken wings and loaded nachos with guacamole and salsa round it out.
At the launch, the standout for us was a pasta inspired by a Tatto recipe: rich without being heavy, and the dish we would order again.
Is LandOn by Tatto Worth Visiting?
Yes, for a cocktail-led night out near KLCC that stays conversational.
LandOn by Tatto pairs a playful London Underground theme with KL timber, local syrups and RM45 signatures, opens until 1am most nights and 2am at weekends, and suits small groups and dates better than big parties.
