Founded by Narelle McMurtrie after she discovered Langkawi had no veterinary clinics when she arrived on the island, the shelter now houses dozens of permanent residents: older animals, those with disabilities and those whose age or needs make adoption difficult.

Stay in a 100-year-old heritage villa
The resort’s eight individually designed villas are between 80 and 100 years old. One was a fisherman’s hut. Another belonged to a Malay nobleman. All have been restored with modern interiors while keeping their original timber frames, four-poster beds and wooden bathtubs.
