Kenting National Park
Due to its warm, tropical environment and laid-back ambience, Kenting National Park has a little more to offer compared to other national parks in the area. It is decorated with beautiful whitewashed beaches, azure blue oceans, low lying highlands, and lush forests. You will see signs directing you to various attractions as you move through the recreation area, such as the popular Fairy Cave and Silver Dragon Cave. Wanlideshan is the highest mountain in the park.

Kenting Beach
Kenting Beach is a lengthy stretch of white sand that contrasts with the azure ocean. The beach drops to a depth of 50 metres. On sunny days, it is a safe beach with few dangerous underwater currents, making it ideal for sea activities. As part of the Southern Bay coastline, its sandy beach and clear blue ocean are appealing to anyone searching for a day of beach fun, swimming, and seashell gathering. Beach & Water Activities
The ideal destination for beach activities in Kenting is Xiaowan or Small Bay Beach. The geological setting of Small Bay creates a small, secure harbour while providing a natural defence against strong waves. Liangshan Waterfall Trail, Niujiaowan Creek
Various waterfalls along the Niujiaowan Creek make up the Liangshan Waterfall Trail. The first waterfall is the easiest to get to, making it the best option if you are only looking to dip your toes in the water. For those who are prepared to hike, this journey requires a proper tour that involves climbing several stairs along the jagged mountain sides. The hike will take up to approximately 1.5 hours roundtrip, but it could take much longer depending on the amount of time you plan on swimming and exploring.

Kenting Street Night Market
This massive two-kilometre long night market can be found on Kenting Street. Every night, especially on weekends, thousands of people pour in. Only the Fengjia Night Market in Taichung is larger than this market, which is most likely the largest in southern Taiwan. The line of food vendors starts in Kenting National Park and extends to Caesar Park Hotel. You can discover some inventive meals like fried Oreos and street-side cocktails. Most tourists also drop by to experience the Kenting party night.

Cape Eluanbi
On Taiwan's southernmost point in the Kenting National Park, you will discover the Eluanbi Lighthouse. At this peaceful retreat, you can find green park and pathways through tropical trees with coral rocks around it.
Cape Eluanbi is located at the southernmost point of Taiwan's island and is reachable by foot. It inspired the name of the lighthouse, which was built during the Qing Dynasty in 1883 . As it is the brightest lighthouse in Taiwan, it is sometimes also known as the light of East Asia.

Gangkou Suspended Bridge
The longest pedestrian suspension bridge in this region is the Gangkou Bridge in Manzhou. The red and white bridge across the Gangkou River is visible from a distance. There are lush trees on both sides of the beautiful river beneath, which is an ideal spot for relaxing or enjoying leisure activities. It is common to see locals and tourists rowing boats here.

Best Time to Visit Kenting
If you want to avoid heavy rains and hot weather, the best months to visit Kenting are March through May, as well as October and November. During these months, the temperature usually ranges between 22°C and 30°C, and the water temperature is warm enough to swim in.
How to Get to Kenting, Taiwan
Kaohsiung to Kenting
From Kaohsiung, there are express buses which depart directly from Kaohsiung Zuoying Station which will take up to 3 hours. Both Kenting and Hengchun bus stations are stops for the express buses. To change to an express bus if arriving by train from the east coast, head over to Fang Liao Station.
Taipei to Kenting
Kenting can be reached through the High Speed Rail, which connects Taipei to Zuoying in Kaohsiung. The total journey takes around 90 minutes. When you arrive at Zuoying, exit the station and take the Line 88 bus to Kenting which runs 24 hours a day. If you are travelling over the weekend, it is best to reserve your HSR tickets over the phone or online as weekend trains are frequently sold out.
