Oyster Culturing Process

Visitors can join a guided tour to watch the culturing process of the oysters. The culturing process begins when the oysters are as small as a ten-cent coin, before growing to reach a length of nine to ten centimetres. This process typically takes between nine to twelve months.

Each month, an approximate 1,000 to 3,000 oysters are harvested at Bakau Hijau farm. Many of us do not give much thought beyond consuming an oyster, so it will certainly be a wonderful and enriching experience to watch and understand the cultivation process.
